Here are some of our personal local favorite places to check out. For Mexican Food in Trinidad you don't won't to miss Tequila's, Mission at the Bell, El Capitan, and the El Paso Cafe. In Walsenburg be sure to check out local favorite Tes' Drive Inn and George's Drive Inn and for great Burritos and Hamburgers smothered with Green Chile sauce. If you haven't tried our local speciality of Green Chile Sauce or Stew you are missing a wonderful treat. It is a stew usually cooked with chunks of pork (or beef), onion, and sometimes pinto beans and garlic with a base of the flavorful Green Chiles. The Green Chiles have a southwest flavor that is not always hot, served in mild, medium and hot in some restaurants. I searched all over the U.S. after my first taste and couldn't find it anywhere but here in Colorado and the Southwest. Don't miss this local Speciality, and you have to try many different restaurant's as it is served differently in each.

Now if you like Chinese food we highly recommend the Wonderful House Chinese Restaurant. Their food is always served fast, hot and with plentiful portions and friendly waiters. And best of all their prices are so very reasonable! Tell Kelly that Charlie and Barb said "Hello".

If you are looking for a Fine Dining experience we would suggest Aly's Fireside Cafe in Walsenburg. Aly's is a rare find in Southern Colorado. Her food is awesome from the main entrees to her wonderful deserts. In Trinidad you do not want to miss Rino's Italian Restaurant and its singing waiters. Located in an historic stone building on Main Street this is one of the best ways to experience Trinidad. In Aguilar try Gordy's Rock House Cafe located on Main Street next to Ringos Market.
